Position Overview:

The Director of Medically-Assisted Treatment ensures effective management and leadership of the Medically-Assisted Treatment (MAT) outpatient programs, the establishment and application of policies and procedures, and administration either directly or through delegation of all operating elements. Ensures the MAT programs services are responsive to the community needs, are of the highest quality care, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures patient-first and Recovery Oriented Systems of Care are a premium focus for all aspects of the participant experience
  • Foster a culture of safety, respect, and trust for participants, families, staff, and community stakeholders
  • Promotes performance improvement activities to monitor performance and continuously providing the optimal quality treatment and services
  • Ensures all evidence-based MAT options are explored and made available to participants
  • Promotes performance improvement activities to monitor performance and continuously providing the optimal quality treatment and services
  • Ensures programs gather and analyze data for trends and institutes actions to promptly resolve problems
  • Adheres to program policies and procedures and evaluates mechanisms to ensure consistency with the regulatory laws and standards, implementing updates as needed
  • Ensures all managed care and other contracts are properly administered and all new opportunities are explored and secured
  • Oversees all aspects of the MAT services in all facilities and levels of care, integrating MAT into a multi-disciplinary system of care across all RCA services
  • Drives the development and expansion of MAT program components, inclusive of methadone, buprenorphine products, naltrexone/Vivitrol, and naloxone.
  • Advises the site CEOs on the successful operations of each facility
  • Ensures clinical and administrative training on MAT is provide to all pertinent staff
  • Troubleshoots and solves clinical and administrative problems
  • Visits MAT sites on a regular basis
  • Assists in start-up at each new site
  • Available to the facility leadership for MAT consultation
  • Direct oversight of census with assigned area, ensuring adequate leads and/or direction where appropriate by aggressively ensuring the Outpatient Programs meets or exceeds census and profitability goals
  • Interfaces with the program medical staff
  • Functions as an administrative resources and subject matter expert for interdepartmental activities, communications, and decisions related to MAT/Behavioral Health
  • Provides comprehensive written reports to the Governing Body according to mutually agreed upon schedule on the following topics; program operations, compliance with policies, status of long-term plan progress, adherence to strategic plan and overall organization vision and mission
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical specialty or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in an outpatient environment
  • Proven track record of large-scale outpatient programs and Medically-Assisted Program management, development and expansion (inclusive of methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone and naloxone)
  • Management experience overseeing the work of other clinicians
  • Experience with developing an outpatient practice

  • Work Environment: May work in a variety of environments including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities. They spend much of their time on their feet, actively working with patients.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
